I should’ve known
when you said you
preferred the rain
because after you left
all I did was rain.
I could’ve filled the Atlantic
with all the rain inside me.
You triggered a storm in me,
now all I do is tread water.

So many things and people can do this to us..
(“Oh no, they can’t,” comes the the cry – “it’s always your choice!” But it isn’t.)
If you swim deep, you swim deep.
You feel the rain, you taste it on your tongue, long after the clouds have disappeared, and you jump in puddles that others perhaps ever even knew were there.
But the trees look more vibrant more colourful, more bright lit after the rain – and so do you. So do your words.

Very true. The world is always more beautiful after it rains.
